Driver: Stephen Short
Stephen was raised on a farm in the mid north South Australia and after learning to drive at a young age he got his first dirtkart at 9 years of age and competed in a couple of race meetings in the later part of 1989 then in 1990 for his first full season at Morgan Dirtkart Club was his first club championship win. After permission from officials to move up to seniors at an earlier age he went on to win club championships 7 out of the next 9 years and a 2nd in the SA state titles and 3rd in the NT titles in 1997. 1999 was his last dirtkart race. He raced on and off from 2000 to 2009 on a dirtbike competing in MX, Enduro, SA Reliability Trials Championship and Desert races in Finke and Hattah. His best achievement was 42nd outright, 4th in class on a stock Honda XR 400 at Finke in 2002 then two 3rd places in the SA Reliability Trails Championship. 2008 and 2009 saw him compete in a 125cc rotax non gearbox superkart at Mallala with a div 2 heavy club championship and driver of the year in 2008 and was relegated to 3rd in a count back after a three way tie for 1st in div 1 heavy in 2009. At the end of 2009 Stephen and his parents purchased a Mazda RX7 IP car from Victoria and only competed in one round of the championship in 2010. After rebuilding, replacing or modifying just about everything in the car he hopefully has it ready for the 2011 season.
